Motorola Gets Into Facebook's Stream
Don't know exactly how it works, perhaps you mention the brand and it recognizes the text, displaying the logo. It worked. I noticed it.

David ArmanoIf I'm reading that correctly, I think FB has made that possible. When they started to allow 'mentions' for brands and people [e.g., @Coca-Cola & @amberportercox] links within our status, I think the ability to truly measure impact within the platform began. [API's/page stats allow us to see all sorts of good nuggets the average user isn't aware.]
I think your idea might be great for a mobile application that aggregates brands. With the increase of geo-targeting in mobile apps, I think we'll see that - and then the tracking gets another layer of crazy - with brand mentions becoming even more specific and quality.
So...how it might work "I mention I'm at Starbucks in a photo posted to FB, it posts my actual store location and Starbucks logo WITH the photo I took of my Mocha!"
My last thought: 'very cool, I may turn those settings off - but good stats for brand loyalty.'
